Senior Network Engineer

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, working alongside a talented group of two Network Engineers and two DevOps Engineers. Our SRE team is dedicated to ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure by combining network expertise with cutting-edge DevOps practices. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in maintaining and optimizing our network systems, automating processes, and ensuring smooth communication between different systems and teams.

 

By working collaboratively with DevOps engineers, you will help design and implement resilient, high-performing network solutions that enhance system reliability. The team focuses on proactive monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement, ensuring that our infrastructure can support the growth and evolving demands of our business. Your expertise will contribute to building a highly available, efficient, and robust network environment.

 

In this role, you will work closely with your colleagues in the SRE team to ensure the continued operation and scaling of our international network, which supports over 7,000 physical servers and 40,000 virtual servers and 16Tbps of external connectivity. You will collaborate with the Development department to further automate the network, optimize network security, and enhance our in-house DDoS protection. Additionally, you will be involved in network monitoring and incident management. Our SRE team also participates in an on-call rotation to respond quickly to any incidents.

 

You possess at least an HBO (higher professional education) level of thinking and working. Experience in the hosting or ISP industry is a plus. You are well-versed in router technologies and protocols such as BGP, IS-IS, VXLAN, and EVPN. Familiarity with DWDM networks would be advantageous. As a skilled troubleshooter, you embrace challenges and have solid knowledge and experience with Linux systems.
